Saturday 14th September 7.30pm – 10.30pm
We are pleased to announce that Peter Tavy’s 2nd Annual Old-Time American Square Dance will take place on Saturday, September 14th
Tony Mates – from Seattle – is returning to again call the dances. Tony’s grandfather grew up here in Peter Tavy and last year Tony brought an evening of Square Dancing back to the Village Hall in his ancestral home. It was a really enjoyable evening and we’re very glad he’s returning to do it all over again.
But this year the dance will be held in Edward and Sandra Dodd’s barn in the centre of the village. Tony will call the dances; there will be a fine live band – and refreshments. All dances are easy and fun and taught as we go. You don’t need a partner or a fancy outfit! If you don’t want to dance, just come and enjoy the live music.
Dance from 7:30 to 10:30 (ish). £7 adults, £5 OAP / U16.
Tel 01822 810868 to book.
Tony is generously donating any proceeds to the Village Hall and Chapel. He’s been calling dances for nearly 40 years, at major festivals and small village halls, bringing the joys of old time music and dance to folks of all ages.
We hope to see you there!
