There’s something for everyone at the Village Hall over the next few weeks. Our programme includes:
Tuesday 23rd January – Whist Drive at 7.30pm (£3 admission, includes tea and biscuits)
Thursday 25th January – Mining in Peter Tavy in the 19th & 20th centuries. Illustrated talk by Chris Wordingham, starts 7.30pm. £4 admission. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment – call 01822 810868.

Friday 9th February – Two Great Plant Hunters – Matthew Biggs (of BBC Radio 4’s “Gardeners’ Question Time) presents the biographies of George Forrest and Ernest Henry “Chinese” Wilson as he becomes these two late 19th / early 20th century explorers. Followed by a short Q & A session at the end of the evening with Matthew as himself! 7.30pm. Admission £6 – spaces limited so please book early on 01822 810868.
Thursday 15th February – An Expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro. Evening talk by Steve Balm about their trip. Starts 7.30pm. Admission £5, all proceeds to the charity Mind. Book in advance on 01822 810868.
Monday 26th February – An Introduction to Dartmoor’s Geology, by Josephine Collingwood (author of “The Dartmoor Tors Compendium”). 7.30pm. Admission £4 – book on 01822 810868. Proceeds split between Dartmoor Search & Rescue Team – Tavistock, and Peter Tavy Village Hall.
